For all the attention given to the Lady Bulldogs’ pitching staff and their four no-hitters this season, College of San Mateo’s offense is also the best in Northern California.

The Bulldogs (24-1 overall) provided another not-so-subtle reminder of this fact Friday in a 13-0 mercy-rule victory at home in non-conference action over College of the Redwoods (1-13), their 24th straight win of the year. CSM totaled 15 hits, scoring crooked numbers in the first, third and fourth innings. The team now leads all Northern California California community college teams with a .384 batting average, and rank third in the state behind only Southern California powers Long Beach (.424) and Palomar (.400).
The running game set the tone for CSM in a four-run first. Emma Kinder and Luda Gumataotao each recorded steals of home, sandwiched by a Gumataotao RBI single, and pitcher Nohemi Livingston capped the rally with an RBI double.
CSM recorded eight stolen bases on the day.

In the third, the Bulldogs sent 10 batters to the plate, highlighted by two-run doubles from Izzy Cowne and Ari Williams. Then in the fourth, Bella Rodriguez led off with a single and stole second, setting up an RBI single from Ava Mendoza. Ariana Montiel and Williams each followed with RBI singles.
Nine CSM batters registered hits in the game, with Montiel leading the way with her first three-hit day of the year. Willams added two hits with a double and three RBIs, while Rodriguez, Livingston and Cowne also had two hits apiece.
Livingston turned in another brilliant outing in the circle, firing a two-hit shutout for a shortened five-inning complete game. The freshman right-hander walked one and struck out five. Her record improves to 6-0 with a state-leading 0.53 ERA.
Livingston leapfrogged teammate Siona Halwani this week for the state ERA lead, after Halwani surrendered two runs in relief in Thursday’s 13-4 win at Hartnell. Halwani is coming off a flawless February, in which she worked 34 1/3 inning without yielding an earned run. The sophomore right-hander went 7-0 in February, and now boasts a perfect 10-0 record with a 0.79 ERA that ranks third in the state.
CSM continues to rank first in the state with a 0.98 staff ERA.
